Green Living Stores
During the weekend I went to a new green living shop called Green Smart Gifts. (Check it out if you’re in the Cleveland area.) At first I was a little confused about a green living gift shop. I mean, I know it’s eco-friendly but it’s still full of not-so-practical stuff (read: gifts). I’ve been to too many gift shops that have nothing useful to buy. I mean, how many earthy trinkets can you have? And what’s the point?
Anyways, this place was different. They had a nice variety of items to choose from and many of them were actually practical. They had wooden baby toys and organic baby clothes (swoon!), jewerly made of recycled material by local folk, natural laundry soap cubes, aluminum water bottles, and indoor gardening kits.
So, yeah, I liked this gift shop and am excited to see it grow. Hopefully other green living shops will sprout up in the area. (I’m really looking for a cloth diaper store to open in my neighborhood!)
Green living is now a big business. It’s the new trendy thing. And I hope it sticks. I remember going to eco shops and hemp product stores in Canada and I’m glad this business is catching waves in the U.S.
