Green Design Tips
I found a helpful site for eco-friendly graphic designers. Lovely as a Tree provides tips on being a green designer. It tells you which papers to buy, what to look for when choosing a printer, how to green your office and–to top it all off–the site is pretty to look at.
Graphic design can use tremendous amounts of toxic ink, wasteful paper, and other landfill-building items. As with everything, there are options to make your work more eco-friendly.
One tip I follow is to re-use the back of paper. Why throw out paper that’s only printed on one side? Reuse the other side for random, unimportant stuff you have to print and save yourself–and the environment–a lot of resources.
