Ideas for a Green Halloween

Published by soja at 11:53 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Be eco-friendly this Halloween by following a few Mother Nature-loving tips:

Buy a used costume.

Why pay premier prices for a costume you’re only going to wear one time? By used instead. You can find plenty of ideas for costumes at thrift stores–you can even find old costumes already put together. Be creative. Have fun–but reuse.

Collect candy with a bag you already own.

Why buy a new bag year after year to collect candy in? Either buy a plastic pumpkin you can use year after year or use a cloth bag (you should have many of them by now!).

Be conscious on what you’re handing out.

I know, I know, kids don’t appreciate getting pennies or apples. But that doesn’t mean you have to give them over-packaged chemically-laden confections. If you refuse to give out apples, give out natural lollipops, pieces or organic chocolate, raisins, or small trinkets.

May Mother Nature treat you well this Halloween–and vice versa. Enjoy!
